Calibano #4, Rome Opera House 2024
Calibano is a publication of the Rome Opera House. The series is a platform for critical reflection and debate on contemporary issues arising from the theater’s performances. In collaboration with the publishing house effequ, each monographic volume—released every four months—explores an opera title and its related themes through essays, short stories, and reviews by notable voices.
This volume explores the outcast identity through visual storytelling. Atelier Manferdini created illustrations using MidJourney, merging classical references with digital aesthetics to reinterpret the publication’s themes. These visual elements challenge conventions and expand the artistic dialogue, reinforcing Calibano’s role as a space for experimentation and inquiry.
