IQHQ-RaDD: Purple Haze, 2024

Purple Haze is a large digital landscape—that wrap the two IQHQ-RaDD garage exits. The Research and Development District (RaDD) is located in San Diego, represents the largest urban commercial waterfront site along California’s Pacific coast. The artwork gently camouflages the built structures into the surrounding landscapes. The artwork features clusters of lilac-blue flowers that appear in late spring, creating a striking contrast of colors that can be seen throughout the city. The stunning piece consists of jacaranda trees that blend real and man-made nature with abstract and figural representation, offering a contemporary interpretation of a traditional landscape painting at an architectural scale.
